The Upskill Space booking wizard and management portal is powered by a local, highly-optimized PHP backend. All desk slots, dates, and seating charts are read from and written to a secure file database (bookings.db) residing right in your root directory.

Why PHP & SQLite?

  • Zero Configuration: Works out-of-the-box when run on any local or remote PHP web server (such as Apache, Nginx, or PHP's built-in server).
  • Atomic Seating Locks: Uses SQL unique keys to guarantee that two users cannot book the same seat at the same time.
  • Self-Contained: No database user, host, password, or cloud subscription keys needed.
